Westbank Anglers
Westbank Anglers is a specialized fly fishing outfit based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, quite literally on the west bank of the Snake River. The company strives to give anglers an unforgettable experience in their fly fishing adventures as well as provide up-to-date information on the conditions of the local area.
Over the summer of 2011, the fly fishers realized that their website had become rather out dated. Not only could the visual components use a refresh, but the site failed to showcase new content (such as conditions reports) that had become integral to the company’s purpose.
The experience that the redesigned website offers is unforgettable. The overall design hooks viewers and the reworked site architecture reels them in.
In the process of rebuilding their website, VR was met with the task of incorporating a functionality that would allow Westbank to feature both general news and blog items as well as up-to-date fishing reports that could be categorized by river section.
VR Interactive was able to customize the WordPress interface through the addition of custom post types (Fishing Reports) as well as custom taxonomy (River Sections). This way, Westbank can keep regular blog entries separate from fishing reports and make both intuitively accessible to users.
